Croatia Airlines and Sarajevo International Airport marked the 20th anniversary of successful cooperation

Today at Sarajevo International Airport Croatia Airlines, Croatian Carrier and Star Alliance member marked the 20th anniversary of continuous operations of the international scheduled air service Zagreb – Sarajevo.
On the ceremony held at the biggest and most important BiH airport, this Carrier also marked 20 years of successful business cooperation with Sarajevo International Airport.
Croatia Airlines' first flight on the international scheduled air service Zagreb – Sarajevo was taken in August 1996 by passenger aircraft ATR42. It was the first European and international plane that landed at renovated Sarajevo Airport and thus re-opened it for the international civil air traffic.
Krešimir Kučko, president of Croatia Airlines Management, said the following during the ceremony:
-We are really proud that our aircraft first landed at Sarajevo Airport in 1996 and thus opened a new chapter in its business and development. During the past twenty years Croatia Airlines and Sarajevo International Airport have made a lot of mutual efforts, expert knowledge, enthusiasm and persistence to improve the cooperation systematically. The Crotaia Airlines fleet on the air service Zagreb – Sarajevo transported more than 887.000 passengers. For our airline BiH market is an important regional market and in the forthcoming winter time table we will continue connecting Sarajevo and Zagreb each day in the week.
Armin Kajmaković, director of Sarajevo International Airport, emphasized the following:
The Carrier Croatia Airlines, as one of our major business partners, is considerably responsible that Sarajevo International Airport, during these 20 years, have had more that 9 million passengers and over 100.000 air traffic operations. This year we proudly expect the   800.000th passenger and thus beat our own another record. I would like to emphasize that Sarajevo Airport has constantly been working on realization of ambitious development projects in order to be able to provide top quality services to all our users and business partners, including Croatia Airlines. Let me use the occasion to express gratitude to Croatia Airlines for their confidence and successful cooperation we have been building together all these twenty years.
